This included george buchanan, a man who had a very traditional sense of how to rase a child, which included beatings. Thus, he grew up in a harsh, protestant climate. He himself wrote all sorts of treaties and tracts in order to become a strong monarch. He helped to get the witch hunt going in scotland with his ideology of demon worship, for example. He also wrote on the divine right of kingship. The king james bible was also named after him. His minority ended by the age of 16.
