She was dressed in traditional costume, was well respected, and wanted to serve god, her husband and child. She always wanted her son to become a priest, and regretted that he did not do so. He saw her in 1936, and she told him it was a pity that he didn"t become a priest. His mother was strict, and demanding of herself, passing on these qualities to stalin. His mother insisted that he went to school, and he was very good at school, with a driving need to succeed.
