Document Summary

Who am i in relation to indigenous women?. I have the privilege of legally identifying as a black queer women. I can trace my lineage for generations of ethiopians. I have the privilege to ignore learning my mother tongue even though it is present in my daily life. I do not attend all traditional gatherings of my people even when i am invited and graciously welcomed. Indigenous women however, are the most vulnerable demographic in canadian society and even despite myself belonging to three marginalized groups i have never feared for my fundamental human rights. The water out of my faucet is always clean and if it should need repair there is always someone to fix an issue within 24 hours. Should i choose to bear children, i do not have to worry that my child will be removed from my arms.
