On the value of seniors: seniors are a rich and vibrant part of our country. Now that seniors are having to stay in the work force, they contribute to society more as opposed to during retirement. The global aging trend, as well as the large aging population in canada, is due to three main factors: the baby boomers. Birth rates increased significantly at the end of wwii, main- ly due to women marrying at an earlier age and older families being more open to having children, after wwii ended. The baby boomer generation is now moving into its senior years. Canadians re living longer, because of improved medical technology and access to better food: declining birth rate. Bc most people have kids later on due to such a large increase in cost of living, need to build stable careers before having children. Having multiple kids is much more expensive (day care costs) Women in the work force causes less children.
