Ethical dilemma when two values in social work conflict with each other: law/policy will always come before ethics, morals and values, approximate dilemma when morals or laws get involved. Two conflicting: respect for inherent dignity and worth of persons (the clients own decisions, competence in professional practice (not being educated on how to treat the client) Fields of practice determine what kind of role you will play in social work. The roles that are specific to the field of practice you are in are called specialist roles. (ex. Generalist (specialist roles) also depend on micro, mezzo and macro levels of practice. This means that not every specialist role can apply to each level. (ex. Can"t do case management on a macro level) * these set of roles are common amongst all levels of practice, they are not separate and distinct from one another*
