Society best organized in gendered spheres [public and private: division of labour between men and women is natural not imposed. Boys and girls internalized gender role expectations: gendered occupations; perform gender roles in relationships. Socialization maintains inequality, it does not explain the cause of inequality. Patriarchy is a sex-class system of male power: sustained through law and culture: sexual violence, pornography, domestic violence.
