Document Summary

Draws the conclusion that there are two truths about god. Truths that are knowable by human reason. Truths knowable by human reason meaning independent of revelation or appeal to faith. Truths philosophers are able to demonstrate of god. Aquinas believes that many christian doctrines surpass human reason. He believes they are still reasonable to believe. Aquinas justifies believing in not knowable pieces of faith as they have been revealed by. They should not be believed because they feel good or are simply instructed to believe them. Testimonies of belief are justifiable for proving knowledge that surpasses human reasoning. If you have reason to believe god has revealed something than you are able to believe it is true. Theologies prove knowledge that surpasses the believable rather than philosophy which focuses what is known by means of human reason. God has good reasons to reveal those truths known by human knowledge.
