Said to be the most important passage in all of plato. Plato thinks that there are two worlds: sensible world [know by sense perception] tables, chairs, intelligible world: world of forms [know by reason] forms, essences of things. What is most real is what is intelligent, not what is sensible. What you cannot see is more real than what you can see. Basketball hoop, clock, watch face; all are imperfect copies of the universal perfect circle. Just acts, just individuals, just states; all imperfect instances of justice.
