There is projected nursing shortage in the coming years due to a mass exodus of retiring nurses. As experienced nurses and nurse leaders retire there will be the need for new nurse leaders. They support and encouragement mentorship programs and initiatives aimed at educating nursing students and new graduate nurses on the skills, resources, and opportunities required to develop into successful nurse leaders. This association is a resource for future nurse leaders. Leadership is a guiding principle in nursing education in canada but leadership opportunities, like those granted through involvement with the canadian nursing students. Leadership education will prepare nursing students to confront the leadership needs of the nursing landscape that they are entering. Cnsa must support programs and initiatives aimed at educating nursing students and new graduate nurses to assist in the development of successful and effective nurse leaders. Each nurse demonstrates leadership by providing, facilitating and promoting the best possible care/service to the public.
