Week 6: environmental health lecture slide part 2. objectives: see bottom image. 1981 first document health included environment encompasses all factors that impact health and are not the person. Influence of these factors on health is receiving increased public, political, scientific and media attention. Exposure to contaminants: ingestion: food, water, soil, liquids inhalation: dust, airborne particles, gas, vapor dermal: skin contact in water, air or soil. Ecological perspective: health is product of interdependence between people and ecosystems, environments influence the way people view the world and choices they make. Identify potential health impacts from environmental factors as part of multidisciplinary team helps to anticipate, recognize, plan, evaluate and control for environmental factors. Participate in program development, planning, implementation and evaluation. Map out actions necessary to deliver the program and thereby reach the goals. Choosing an activity requires knowledge of a broad range of intervention strategies. Goal: support the health and well-being of entire population benefits from associated health and social.
