The beginnings of the chinese communist party (ccp) Li dazhao- head librarian at the university: first chinese communist party congress, july 1921. Soviet union plays an important role in the establishment of the cpp: russian bolshevik revoluion, 1917 inspired the chinese people. Represented that a now industrial society could wage a revoluion. Provided a model on how to become strong, modern and independent: provided the much needed inancial, organizaional, and leadership help. Sent communist internaional: the communist internaional (comintern) provided support (soviet group responsible for spreading communism, agents were sent to china to help them organize. The first united front (1924 1927: guomindang (gmd) also received support from the comintern (soviets) Soviets were trying to keep japan out and keep china strong by uniing them. Chiang kaishek: sun yatsen and song qingling. Ccp was very small compared to the gmd (needed military strength) Gmd wanted the party to be inclusive of all chinese.
