It was 2am and the street was deserted: mcgee was returning home from the house of commons after giving a speech to convince nova. Scotia to stay in confederation: mcgee was a recent immigrant, still has ties to irish land, was part of a series of political issues: Is seen as both a hero and a traitor because of his changing political views: the irish question. It tells us a lot about the politics of that time. Internal political issues and external political issues: the kinds of people that lived in canada at that time, the assassination shows the fragility of a young country, can address the overall theme of terror, religion, nationalism.
