Memes are a visual form of cultural diagnosis and prescription. Memes participate in the retribalization of culture that mcluhan predicted, translating global populations into roving multitudes and collective actors. Memes have dramatically changed our concepts of art creativity individuality truth and belief and they increasingly play a role in determing our political future. Memes are magical and hold the power to change the world. In the modern period the artist or the creator was someone who produced things that were singular, unique and original. In the avant garde movement art was challenged by transforming everyday practices and objects. Postmodern architects in the 70s and 80s were influenced by the avantegarde. Only with the intro of cinema does the screen become transformed into an object that facilitates projected images: a gateway to reality (utopian framework, a restoration of reality (conservative framework)
