Canadian society moved from farms to the bigger cities. The only way women had power was when they came together. Women"s christian temperance union: an organization that had thousands of women that was charitable to poor women. Put pressure on politicians: realized that the politicians would not listen until women had the right to vote. The belief that women as mothers and caregivers had an important role to play in society, and that their status as mothers should entitle them to retain rights and protections. During the war, some women could vote but others couldn"t. Gave some women the right to vote so he could stay in power. People say that second wave feminism was for white, middle class women.
