Measuring the amount of free time people have. The amount of free time people have is related to physical health in a way that families have time to cook at home and eat fast food less. It is also related to mental health because no one can work non stop without going a little crazy. It could related to being a good citizen as in if people have more free time they may join a committee or volunteer in their community. An abundance of free time could also mean more crimes because delinquents get bored with all their free time. When measuring free time they look at: gender, class, age, ethnicity or race. Sociologists have been interested in free time because of gender inequalities. The second wave of feminists came in the 1960"s. Domestic labour: tasks that have to be done around the house to maintenance the house (work that gets done in the domestic/private sphere)
