On a sunny, summer day, the small children roam at will in a spacious area and swim in what amounts to their private lagoon. In terms of the physical condition of build- ings and sanitation, the story is deplorable. Shallow wells and cesspools, in close proximity, are scattered about the slopes between the shacks. There are no accurate records of conditions in africville. There are only two things that can be said. The families will have to be rehoused in the near future.
