Roles in terror plots, unpredictable (personalities= volatile, untrustworthy) Films effective because everyone has access to film= powerful because it reaches so many people. Mixture of fiction and reality; takes work to disentangle the two. Power of images and sound; stamped with information, but interpret as knowledge. Must create distance between film in order to critique and analyze it. Sabah: can marry whoever you want; familial ties on the line, man is controlling (used to be fun, falling in love vs. arranged marriage, birthday party, can"t swim because not proper to be half naked, smoking sheesha/ dancing.
