When we look at boys and girls, gagnon and simon suggested that boys first sexual experiences typically occur alone through masturbation, their first experience with sex is outside an interpersonal context. When we look at the sexual experience of girls, first sexual experience is later and first masturbation tends to happen after interpersonal sexual activity. At the time of first sexual experience and first sexual intercourse for boys, intimacy is separate for boys. Boys typically describe person they had first intercourse with as a casual. Descriptions: young men describe it as a positive experience, satisfying, but date, girls describe first encounter as being with someone they were in love with not in terms of intimacy. Because of different experiences early on with sexuality, boys and girls likely feeling afraid determine different sexual scripts for how sexual activity ought to go.
