Wollen from the library commons to do a presentation on citations. Today we are not memorizing how to do citations, but rather learning why it is important to cite and where to get help. It"s important because it is giving credit to the person. You give credit for other"s work, ideas, information, etc. It"s the right thing to do and it is mandatory at sheridan. Consequences for plagiarism can range from failing the assignment, to failing the course, to being expelled from the college. So what do you need to cite any information you include in your assignment that you have found somewhere else. Even if you summarize it or rephrase it. You need to cite it still, even if it is your own words. My recommendation is that you should put things in your own word, it helps you formulate and think about it in your own words.
