How kids learn to talk about the psychological world (bottom-up approach) Children are able to learn the meanings of words after they can do the actions. I. e. children can learn the meaning of look after learning to point and gaze follow. Adults are able to introspect to access our own private thoughts and actions. This is a developmental outcome - not the basis for social development. Once children can talk about the psychological world, they can think about psychological matters. Being able to use forget because of routines. This view is pitted against the traditional, cartesian view that is taken for granted. These depend on different views of mind and language. Advanced false belief understanding associated with a number of things. Better understanding of social understanding actually helps bullies accomplish their goal. Poor social understanding is linked to being a victim of bullying in a longitudinal study.
