Renaissance = rebirth, period of time of rethinking about what happened in middle ages, people were being skeptical and revised a lot of things. There was in interest in humanism (the individual human and human nature). It was about feudal systems before, and now people were thinking about individualism. Things in the middle ages that were considered taboo (ie: dissecting human beings) no longer became considered bad. Time of scientific curiosity, francis bacon created experimental approaches that are used often in modern science.
