2 principle methods of nonviolence: civil disobedience oinvolves breaking the law selectively-only when the law we believe is immoral in a significant way oyou"re disobeying certain law, but in a civil way othree crucial elements of civil disobedience. !breaking unjust law in a nonviolence way (civil way)- not haring other people. !doing so openly and accepting punishment for breaking the law- gandhi believes that people should not do this in a covert way (political protest). Moral reason for accepting punishment in breaking the immoral law in a civil manner: people who practice disobedience are not anarchist they are still following the law. Gandhi: the wrond-doers goes tired in the absence of resistance a big part of what sustains oppression is the complex form of satisfaction that pressure group has in dominating. By not resisting, it can transform the oppressor and make them think in a different way.
