Essence of authority is something more : the ability to make decisions which others consider binding and obey. Particular body can make decision that people can obey. Personal charisma e. g. , people are moved by what that person say/ attach /personal power/ can be +ve and ve ( hitler), submit personal power to murder people who resisted them/ Fear of force e. g. , people will obey if they will be locked up. Personal agreement with the command e. g. , there"s a good reason to do so, by going along with it, i am going to achieve with something bigger down the road. Acquiescence : to become quiet: quietly going along with something, whether you actually understand, agree with, or support the decision or command.
