Even broader david held: politics is a phenomenon found in and between all group and institutions, informal or formal, in society and cuts across private and public life. Politics is about power and the effect of power on the resources distributed or used. An idea that remains consistent throughout politics is that, politics occurs where there is conflict. If there is no conflict, there is no politics because politics is the process that is used, and the activities or the mechanisms used, that are used to handle, or manage or resolve, conflict. Political institutions and procedures are the mechanisms through which conflicting interests in society get reconciled and can be harmonized to the extent that a single consistent decision can be made despite those differences. Politics is sometimes called the art of disappointment because you will always be disappointed because it is the result of comprising.
