Problems: sample problems, quality, quantity and complex mixtures, analytical, statistical power, sampling bias, interpretation, methodolgy, accuracy, specificity (being able to get as much out of the sample as we can, and also without contamination), throughput. Pcr: some of those problems are solved with this. It lets us test smaller and smaller samples: however with smaller and smaller samples, risk of contaminating dna is super super easy. Human genome sequence: told us a lot about how dna differs from person to person, allowed ident of more and more loci used for analysis, allowed us to start genotyping snps. Genetic genealogy: will change how we approach forensic genomic, v useful in cold cases, however there"s a lot of ethical questions and problems related to this.
