*abstraction of reality, something we can define, becomes part of our theories, organizes observations about a phenomena, expressed through language or symbolism. In txt, a lot of concepts are bolded. Something that has not been proven not true. Eg. smoking causing lung cancer is a fact. What are data? (data is the plural of datum) Collections of observation- something measured and are measurable(pictures, words and numbers) In health science, it is not a guess. Its a set of ideas and statements and ceoncepts that link the ideas together. Constructod for a purpose/reason, to descirbe and explain why, control what is going on. That is capable of being tested and falsified. That brings different hypotheses together supported by different types of evidence. *process of obsercation, explanation, experimentation and predction that results in a systemized body of knowledge about a particular phenomena or group of phenomena attained by verifiable means.
