What do we know: recently in a car accident, acquired pure alexia (brain injury, no other lasing complicaions from her injuries, joy can spell but she can"t read, can spell because her motor circuits aren"t damaged. Spelling is also coming from her long-term memory: she is most likely going to be a leter by leter reader but cannot put them together into leter units. What informaion is missing: can she spell new words? o. What is the issue: she can spell but cannot read her words. How can it be solved: leter by leter reading, app that can be read back the words to you, work with the resource teacher to ofer support, could be integrated into a full inclusion classroom with adaptaions/modiicaions.
