Could we have an automated osint information retrieval system? to elicit the desired information from the investigator: query all openly available data sources, establish the best possible response to the searcher"s information requirements. Retrieving information may be regarded as finding answers to questions. Locating relevant information can be time-consuming and frustrating. Although the query format is simple, there is no guarantee that available information resources actually contain the required answer. Many information requirements are more complex-- not simply yes" or no" questions. The search may start with no clearly defined information target but with a view to shedding light" on the subject matter. This in turn initiate a perpendicular chain of thought that re-directs the search focus. In academic research, researcher explore related research literature with a view to understand the work that has already been undertaken.
