Intensive basic id course at canadian police college. 6 hour exam - carried out by senior --- forensic specialist. Doesn"t involve real crown, defence counsel and judge. Have to enter -= force every 2 years. Crime discovered then reported first responders attend the scene (emergency/paramedics) if a crime has occurred, police officers tak control. Once secene is secure, first responders notifies other specialist sections. Coroner, serious crime section (if serious), ident specialists. Determine if a crime has been comitted (first responders) If there is a crime, po will take over the scene. Identify and collect evidence and deliver it to crime lab. Not analyzing and not involved in actual investigation of the crime. Analyze fingerprints and other impressions evidence (palm, show prints), blood stain patterns. Determine whether they need entomologist, etc or not. Receive info an all other bran specialists (path. May provide a lot of info to the police pertaining the crime (evidence gone)
