Eg. rapist goes to his neighbourhood bar, even though his prior offense occurred against a women he. Eg. child sexual abuser goes to the deli at 3pm, the exact time that kids get out of school and get. May take place over a long period of time. May occur quickly if opportunity presents itself. Crim316 chapter 4: cycles of sexual offending. Offenders make a series of decisions before the commission of the act. These seemingly irrelevant decisions (sids) creates a pro-offending environment met at a bar while intoxicated snacks. Sids place offenders in environments where they have access to potential victims thru their routine activities. Offense cycle also includes interaction of thoughts, feelings, behaviours. ^ researchers found after that not all sex offenders follow this cycle. Once engaged in negative thought-feeling-behaviour cycle, offender experiences inappropriate sexual thoughts/fantasies. This positive reinforcement decreases the offender"s negative thoughts and feelings. Some feel happy/content before committing sex crimes.
