Is aggression insincive or learned? or both. Aggression may or may not include violence, but violence always includes aggression. Behavior perpetrated with the intenion of harming another individual physically or psychologically or to destroy an object. Destrucive physical aggression intenionally directed at harming other persons or things. It is the acions of the perpetrator that are criical. Occurs due to compeiion/desire for material good/presige possessed by another. Aggressive impulses must be managed through acceptable channels. Aggression is an inherited insinct developed through evoluion. Relevant b/c human are part of animal world. Frustraion is interference with behavior that has valued goal response. Is an aversive internal state of arousal. Aggression is a consequence of an individual trying to reduce frustraion. 3 steps: person blocked from obtaining goal. Frustraion results, leading to anger: anger predisposes person to aggress, depends on history, interpretaion of event, aggression-eliciing simuli (e. g. weapons efect) Arousal from one situaion can be transferred to another situaion.
