Social media is where work and play converge. Feelings are personal and biographical based on where you are, who you are, how you"re feeling that day (i. e. tired) Emotions are social projections or displays of feelings. Affect is a non-conscious experience of intensity; of unformed and unstructured potential. The nine affects" - tomkins identi ed nine distinct affects to explain the expression of emotion in all humans: most are de ned by pairs of words that represent the least and most intense expression of a particular affect. Flexibility ability to work anywhere and anytime; in nitely expendable and expandable. Key concepts: second shift (unpaid work, i. e. being a mother), homework, emotional labour. Homework: the industrial revolution in the domestic sphere. Shift from household as focus of production to marketplace or production for sustenance. Change in structure and function of the family.
