Storing knowledge in your memory through diferent techniques other than wriing (eg. song, story telling) Primary oral cultures are socieies who sill lives in primiive era (wriing doesn"t exist and only way to communicate is orally) Origin of orality is very mysterious o b/c all languages are primarily oral cultures. All languages are primarily oral cultures o o. Homo sapiens were ideniied about 40 - 60 thousand years ago, but the wriing was only discovered 10 thousand years ago and structural wriing is only 300 years old. Only 100 languages have writen languages, most are never writen but are sill being exercised. Since everyday acivity builds up culture, all cultures of world are deeply rooted in oral tradiion.
