He"s willing to support her through his knowledge: referent: ravi shows his appreciation for her if she works overtime but he also understands if she"s unable to. Personal power = leadership ** best power. Coercive power: power that is based on fear. Legitimate power: the power a person receives as a result of his or her position in the formal fierarchy of an organization. Reward power: compliance achieved based on the ability to distribute rewards that others view as valuable. Expert power: power based on special skills or knowledge. Influence based on possession by an individual of desirable resources. Ability to bring about the change as a result of one"s access to information. Example: telling aysha that her work may promote her and grow the organization = share info that motivates her to work. Taylor swift, steve jobs, etc: use influence, they don"t force you to do anything.
