Systems analysis and design: understanding, modelling, and redesigning business processes. Activities: use and transform resources and information of one type into resources and information of another type; can consist of purely manual or automated procedures, or a mixture of both. Resources: items of value (cash, cheque, goods, a person working) Facilities: structures used within the business process; can include digital or inventory as well. Information: data with a meaning; difference that makes a difference. Data: not meaningful on its own; requires context to be meaningful. Business process management (bpm): is a field of management that promotes the development of effective and efficient processes through continuous improvement and innovation. Hardware and people are actors, software and procedures are the set of instructions for the hardware/ people.
