Going overboard with fertilizer and pesticides to the point where it doesn"t help anymore. Increase cost in production: irrigation, fertilizer, pesticides, lots of farmers that went into debt; many farmers fell into debt and ultimately committed suicide, especially in india (using pesticides) Farmers grew a lot of food but weren"t able to distribute it due to transportation, storage and the market and lots of the food rotted.
