Modern food system has its strengths and weaknesses. Its is important to identify these if we need to imagine a sustainable food system that can over these weaknesses. We need to image a food system to overcome these shortcoming, built upon its strengths. We may of course, realize that what we identify as strength may actually be causes of these failures. Food systems problems are interrelated hunger, obesity, farm crisis, global warming are interrelated symptoms of (r2s) Effective response require our ability to see interrelationships among these seemingly unrelated issues and working together. Strength and weakness of the modern food system effective, productive, profitable, un-equitable, unsustainable, unhealthy. We all can be suffering the consequences of the problems in the food system: malnutrition, obesity, food safety, social justice, and environmental issues are everyday (r2s) Whose is responsibility is bringing change? informing and education individuals to make better choices and become more responsible consumers, producers, eaters, and citizens is crucial.
