This is where your value is located in a patriarchal society. Heternormative and heterosexual is this gender role. There is an expectation that the whole reason why you got married, is to have children. This is the case for both gay and lesbian weddings. In gay wedding, that they will start to adopt or hire a surrogate to produce children for them. And in straight weddings, the purpose is to have children with your partner within a nuclear fertile. They automatically assume that it is the woman. This is the case in single women family setting. In lesbian weddings, this mean sperm donor or friend, who could be both. Women who choose not to have children, you are highly pitied. You missed the boat because of a lack of opportunity. Socially, your traditional gender role is to have children. May seem unnatural for women to not want to have children.
