Produces ideas about female empowerment and sexualization of women, women are empowered in this show through their work, as being surgeons. Not thru sex appeal but through their actual achievements. Female characters in this show don"t pay for their career choices, we are constantly given this narrative of women having to choose between a successful career or a successful family. They don"t choose but they talk about it all the time, acknowledging the fact that women have to choose but we are going to make it work. Female characters on the show that just don"t want children, there is this idea that women choose not to have children because they are so career oriented, she is not patholigized for this.
