Parents will not interfere with sibling abuse because it is seen as preparation for competition in life they will have to participate in or as practice for the capitalist society. As a result parents let sibling abuse go on until a certain point. In the case of gender, parents will let boys physically abuse their brothers and sisters. When girls use physical violence, parents immediately cut it off. Sibling abuse is practiced in accordance to the social construction of masculinity and femininity. Girls are encouraged to use verbal emotional and psychological abuse.
