Cities are often seen as inconsistent with notions of nature. However, cities have become the focal point for concerns about the environment because of: 1) unrestricted economic growth (i. e. , development and population growth (macro level) 2) large scale sake consumption of goods and services (micro level) these activities drain resources (i. e. high levels of waste and energy use) that cities depend on=> not sustainable think of environment and the natural resources we have. Ex: a lot more wildlife in cities that what there used to be such as raccoons but now there are deer"s running all over the place. We are becoming a wilderness setting because once we diminish their ecosystem, they start to adapt to ours. We have started to shake up and destabilize various eco-systems. Air pollutants resulting from car emissions and toxic emissions. Landfill spaces: some waste disposal cities have become golf courses.
