In 1960 status indians could not vote in canadian elections. From 1884, first nations could not buy arms or alcohol. From 1920 attendance at residential schools made mandatory. (which was probably the most damaged) Status indians who attended universities could lose their status (amended 1985) Not being able to go to school, prohibits structural power for natives. It lessens their chances to gain an income and being successful.
