The use of public space in relaion to pop culture. Gets ignored in favour of an emphasis on the commercial products of mass media. Popular recreaion went through dramaic changes during this period. This ime period had a lot to do with farming and agriculture, so usually recreaion was expressed through farming and agricultural aciviies relaing to calendar holidays. Games and entertainment was largely public and took place on shared lands. Tradiional recreaion required litle to no preparaion in terms of organizaion and equipment. It was a less commercialized era, more wholesome and community-based. The harsher events to the contrary that took place and were considered as socially acceptable were bull ighing, cockights and other blood sports involving violent aciviies. During this ime, there was an expression bringing may lowers , which was the act of a woman going to the forest to ind opportuniies for pregnancy and sexual freedom, but oten was shamed for women.
