After reading the article crime fighters by ray surette, i found an interest in how cops are portrayed in movies and tv shows are completely different from reality. The article talks about the csi effect which is the description of the law and order ideology. The role of a cop played in these movies and television shows are over exaggerated from what is real. An example of this would be the enforcement frames of good cops and bad cops. The good cop is used for the police officials that are dedicated professionals, using latest technology to prove that crime does not pay. The bad cop is portrayed as a corrupt police officials who can only be fought by an outsider police officer. In my opinion i believe that the misrepresentations in television shows and movies is different between genres, and because of this, television shows portray completely different ideas of crime fighters and what they do from reality.
