Those meanings attached to health emerge out of our interactions with others different with doctor, fitness trainer, parent. The meanings of health will vary cross culturally ethnic, racial group, different parts of the world. Sickness, we tend to think, is a category comprised of physically based phenomena. When the body exhibits certain symptoms, we know that we are ill or that we ought to see a doctor for a diagnosis. No because similar symptoms could be from an everyday or normal cause. Societies differ dramatically in their response to the same bodily, physical symptoms: In some places in south america, pinto is normal, often if men don"t have it they won"t be able to get married. Some places think that worms are good for digestion. Could be considered a spiritual practice or as gifted.
