Findings from this type of research originate from observing the face to face interaction inside the classroom: Research indicates that teachers" expectations can affect students" performance. Teachers believe the upper class are smarter than the working class. If teachers believe you are smart they will treat you differently than if they think you are not so smart. Teachers place students they believe are smart into academic tracks.
