PSY 808 Lecture Notes - Equal Voice, Community Psychology
Document Summary
The risk factors are very different between nation or even citywide areas based on the determinants of how successful one individual will become in life and this changes throughout time. Making early decisions may help us in the future but we also do not know what is going to come our way, which might change our lives for the better, or worse. When we have a collective voice, it is often not an equal voice, and no one would vote against his or her own neighbourhood or socioeconomic status. Historically, groups have been at odds with one another where the boundaries would be eventually erased but other new issues would arise (ie) supressing color difference but increasing class discrimination.
