Results in essential hypertension (high blood pressure without inherent stimulus or cause) There are genetic predispositions to most psychological disorders (but it is a polygenomic- environmental process) Depression fixed by anti-depressants (medical doctor) or cognitive-behavioural therapy (cognitive or cognitive-behavioural psychologist) both work for some people or even placebos work for some people. *office hours tues/thurs before and after class only or e-mail, phone by appointment* *use deep encoding strategies to study for exams* Midterm exam = chapters 1-5 (m/c + s/a) 50 m/c + 2-3 s/a worth 20-30 marks. Final exam = chapters 6-12 (not cumulative, but comprehensive) m/c only 75 questions 2 hrs. Attach abstracts + thesis statement to it + say a sentence or two about each heading + include references (find articles within the past 5 years)
