PSY 308 Lecture Notes - Lecture 7: Lady Gaga, Lateral Thinking, Bionics
Document Summary
A creative product is one that is 1) unusual, novel, or surprising and it is 2) appropriate, worth wild, meaningful, useful. A product can be very unusual, novel or surprising (like lady gaga outfits) but are not appropriate (you will be sweating and smelly in a hot day) Creativity can be on a scale from just a little bit of creative to extremely creative and useful. Creativity is in the eye of the observer. Judgements of what is creative can change over time (it can be that your product/solution may not be creative for a long time) If you are truly creative, you will demonstrate regular occurrence: where you produce creative ideas consistently and not just once or twice) To be considered creative, the whole world doesn"t have to believe it is surprising, worth wild etc, it can just be a segment of a population.
