Document Summary

Development psychology: is the study of how behaviour changes over the life span. Logical error where you assume that a causes b, just because b came after a: must consider other possibilities such as, environmental and social reasoning. Human development is almost always a two ways street. Children"s development influences their experiences, but their experiences also influence their development: if we think we can do something but fail, we tend to lose belief. Sets of people who lived during one period can differ in some systematic way from sets of people who lived during a different period. Choosing between cross-sectional and longitudinal designs: cross-sectional- research design that examines people at different ages at a single point in time, longitudinal- research design that examines development in the same group of people on multiple occasions over time. Early input from the world exerts a significant impact on development: but so does all other input throughout life.
